The Jack Herer Cup, named for the Emperor of Hemp, legendary cannabis activist Jack Herer who passed away in 2010, held its 2nd annual awards celebration in Las Vegas on Thursday November 17th, 2016, while the entire cannabis industry was in town for the Marijuana Business Conference & Expo. Reef showed up in force to support our friends at Tryke, who took home two cups for their outstanding concentrates, including the prize for Nevada’s best indica concentrate for Khalifa Kush shatter. Not to be outdone, Tryke’s Arizona arm won the out-of-state division’s best sativa concentrate award for their Strawberry Cough shatter. So either way you slice it, Tryke’s concentrates are the best you will find.
The event took place at the Hard Rock Live on the Las Vegas Strip and included a performance by Baby Bash and culminated with a lifetime achievement award for Jack’s widow Jeannie Herer (who we had the immense pleasure of chatting with as the party wound down, and who was kind enough to take a photo with a few of us Reefers). Time flew by, but we met so many great people and we couldn’t be prouder of Tryke for their two wins.
We would also like to congratulate more friends who took home hardware. Tahoe Hydroponics Company swept the Nevada flower competition, winning indica, sativa, and hybrid, while Bhang Nevada similarly swept vape pens.
